Meandering Escape

You're in a tank that's careening through a heavily-defended military base, with only its main cannon on your side. Can you get out here, preferably safely? 

Controls:
Left and Right: Rotate the cannon clockwise/counter-clockwise.
Up and Down: Extend the range of your cannon.
Z: Shoot
